FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT FUNDRAISER featuring beloved 80s classic E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, Thursday, April 10th!

The Fern Arts Collective Fun Flicks organizers have joined forces with the Grade Eight Student Committee to bring you Spielberg’s 1982 family favourite, E.T.! Proceeds from the April 10th event will go towards the grade eight’s graduation and end of year trip.

MOVIE NIGHT FUNDRAISER
Thursday, April 10th @ the Fern School Auditorium
Doors Open at 6pm
Movie at 6:30pm

Most parents will remember the plot (and that line about phoning home) quite well. But just in case: “ET is about an extra-terrestrial accidentally left behind on Earth and befriended by a young boy (Elliot), and his brother and sister. Elliot attempts to help his new friend contact his home planet, so that he might be rescued, and the children must elude scientists and government agents determined to apprehend the alien for their own purposes...which results in an adventure greater than any of them could have imagined.”

E.T. is as brilliant and powerful as you’ll remember, but it is a tear-jerker with a few mild swear words (courtesy of the teenagers in the script) so it’s rated PG for a reason. We feel it’s best suited for kids aged 7 and up and enjoyed alongside a parent. Here’s a worthwhile assessment to read beforehand: https://www.commonsensemedia.org/movie-reviews/et-the-extra-terrestrial

More details:
—Tickets are $5 each and are for sale at the Fern office or in the schoolyard from one of our friendly volunteers.
—Organic hotdogs, popcorn, juice and home-baked treats will be available.
—The broader community is welcome to attend, so please spread the word and invite your non-Fern neighbours and friends too!
Come and support our soon-to-be graduates as they gear up for their graduation and final trip!
